The study was designed to evaluate the effect of vitamin E on hemolytic anemia of premature
infants. Sixty infants delivered in Cheil Hospital from March 1987 to December 1988 with birth weight
below 2500 gm or gestational age below 37 weeks were studied. Thirty infants received oral vitamin
E 25 IU/day until their birth weight doubled. Thirty infants served as control.

Horseshoe kidney is the most common type of fusion anomaly during renal development. We report
5 cases of horseshoe kidney who were diagnosed at the pediatric department of Yonsei Medical
Center, from February 1971 to December 1986.

Hermaphroditism implies a discrepancy between the morphology of the gonads and of the external
genitalia.
We report a case of female infant with virilization bom to a mother who also developed signs of
virilization during the pregnancy. Mother was diagnosed having huge, bilateral ovarian Krukenberg
tumors metastsized from the stomach.
A brief review of the literature was made. |
